Crew 13 Ventures to the Cumberland County Emergency Communications Center

On Tuesday March 2nd Crew 13 made a trip to the Cumberland County 911 center to learn how emergency calls are received and ultimately how emergency units are dispatched and managed during emergency incidents.  The Crew learned the importance of good communications and were able to meet the behind the scenes emergency personnel.

While the Crew was in the communications center they got to hear a fire call from the moment it was received at 911, through getting the fire department on scene and early operations.  This was a great experience since it demonstrated the number of people even within the communications center that must work as a team.  This is the same way that firefighters and other emergency service providers need to work together on scene.

Thank you to everyone at the Communications Center for their time and willingness to share their expertise.
